Search Engine Keyword Research
Search engine keyword research is step one in building a successful Third Party Blog. We wrote a blog post in July 2009, The Key is Keywords that really breaks down the reason for SEO keyword research.
In consultations with clients, we focus on the competitive marketplace that they reside in. We look existing meta tags and their existing keywords for their business website and then using search engine keyword research, we find out if those meta tags get reasonable search traffic. We then look at the search “competition” for those meta tag keywords.
Next, we compile a new list of keywords specific to the client’s marketplace – ranked by search volume and search competition. Many new keywords may appear that the client did not know about. We overlay that list on top of your actual competitors website list of keywords. We them make decisions on keywords to use for your Third Party Blog. They will be used as blog post titles, keywords in those articles, in other blog comments etc.
Good Content is Not Good Enough
It is not good enough to just write good blogs, good content. If no one is searching for relevant terms that are in your content, you will not get good traffic from the search engines. Some may argue that if you are an excellent writer, an authority on a topic, and you are writing deep blogs with value, that you will build an affinity base of readers and they will tell the world how great your blog is. They will use Twitter and other social media to promote and share the value of your writing. This may be true, and many bloggers have grown their readership and traffic this way. But there is a better way. Provide great blogs using excellent search engine keyword research and you will build an affinity base and accelerate the growth of your blog traffic at the same time. You need good articles and good SEO keyword research.
How Do You Do Search Engine Keyword Research?
Third Party Blogs has developed its own set of processes for executing good search engine keyword research. We are not going to give away the recipe of our “special sauce”! Of course its not just the keywords but how and when to use them. You can read many blogs about search engine keyword research. However, using a technique (or techniques) and applying them in real world to get the best results are two different things. We have a system that works for our clients. It continues to get refined and improved.
